Went to Verplank this am to look for eagles and boy was I rewarded.  I had ca.
40+ eagles of all ages flying, sitting on the ice, and in trees.  Such great
birds.  So many winter around here now.  I love it!  Also seen there were a
imm. Snow Goose and Peregrine Falcon as well as many Common Mergansers.
After seeing the eagles there I went to Croton Pt. Park.  Only had three eagles
there, two adults and an immature, but the adults gave incredible close looks.
Gorgeous.  Also seen were a Northern Harrier, Red-tailed Hawk, Northern
Saw-whet Owl, and two Great Horned Owls dueting.  So cool.  As usual for me no
Screech-Owl though:-(
