There’s a male Painted Bunting coming to backyard feeders in Pearl River, Rockland County. The homeowner is not a birder. She sent me a description on Thursday, and a photo on Friday. I was able to see photograph the bird this morning, Saturday. Unfortunately the feeders are not visible from the street, and after careful consideration and a lot of discussion, the owner has declined to allow birders in her backyard. I’ll be putting a photo on eBird later. I’ve already done so on the Facebook New York Birders page. Dawn Hannay
