Black-throated Green Warbler, Osprey, Savannah & Field Sparrow & Other Spring 
Migrants
 
Canada Goose - 8 including nest on Harlem Meer island (others reported new 
goslings)
Mallard - a smattering on the Meer & Pool
Ruddy Duck - 3 Harlem Meer
Mourning Dove - not many
Chimney Swift - in flight high over the Harlem Meer (David Barrett)
Ring-billed Gull - 2 or 3 at the Harlem Meer
Herring Gull - flyover
Double-crested Cormorant - 8
Snowy Egret - 9 flyovers
Great Egret - 3
Black-crowned Night Heron - 2 (adult & 1st-cycle imm.) Harlem Meer island
Osprey - low flyover male returning to fish at the Harlem Meer
Red-tailed Hawk - pair at nest on Cardinal Cooke Fifth Avenue
Red-bellied Woodpecker - female Conservatory Garden
Downy Woodpecker - male at the Loch
Northern Flicker - pair Conservatory Garden
Blue-headed Vireo - Blockhouse
Blue Jay - 5 or 6
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 3
Cedar Waxwing - 5 or 6
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 2 (1 Pool, 1 Blockhouse)
Northern Mockingbird - 1 Conservatory Garden & Harlem Meer
Hermit Thrush - 3 or 4
American Robin - around 40
House Finch - 3 or 4 just west of Conservatory Garden
Chipping Sparrow - small flock near Plant Nursery
Field Sparrow - 3 Grassy Knoll
Dark-eyed Junco - 2
White-throated Sparrow - around 20
Savannah Sparrow - 2 Wildflower Meadow (David Barrett)
Song Sparrow - 3
Swamp Sparrow - 1 at the Pool
Red-winged Blackbird - 8-10
Common Grackle - a few
Lousiana Waterthrush - 2 (1 at the Loch, 1 at the Pool)
Northern Waterthrush - 3
Black-and-white Warbler - 4 (David Barrett)
Prothonotary Warbler - 1 male continued at the Pool (Mary Kate Horbac)
Palm Warbler - 8-10
Pine Warbler - 2 at the Pool
Yellow-rumped Warbler - at least 6
Black-throated Green Warbler - male below the Lily Ponds (on a tip from Benny 
R.)
Northern Cardinal - 6
