Manhattan, N.Y. City - Sunday, First of May:

A bright PROTHONOTARY Warbler was found and photographed at Fort Tryon Park (in
northern Manhattan), an excellent find for that location. Northern Manhattan
generally was faring well for May 1, with a very nice diversity of species.
There have been arrivals of sparrows including White-crowned as well as
Lincoln’s Sparrows, in the county.

Thanks to many keen observers again out for this May-day.

Good May birds to all,

Tom Fiore
N.Y. City
