Highlights: Red-tailed Hawk vs. Black-crowned Night Heron, Wood Warblers: 
Northern Waterthrush, Common Yellowthroat, American Redstart, Northern Parula, 
Chestnut-sided Warbler, Canada Warbler. 
 
Canada Goose - 5 with some half-grown goslings Harlem Meer
Gadwall - 3 (2 males, 1 female) at the Pool
Mallard - a few Harlem Meer and the Pool
Mourning Dove - several
Herring Gull - flyover
Double-crested Cormorant - 3
Great Egret - a dozen flyovers
Black-crowned Night-Heron - adult chased by yearling Red-tailed Hawk at the Pool
Red-tailed Hawk - 6 (2 adults, 3 nestlings, 1 second-year/first-cycle)
Red-bellied Woodpecker - heard
Northern Flicker - 1
Eastern Kingbird - 2 together west side of Harlem Meer
Eastern Wood-Pewee - 1 at the Pool
Warbling Vireo - 2 seen, several heard
Red-eyed Vireo - 4 at the Loch, others heard
Blue Jay - 1 at the Pool
American Crow - 1 flyover, others heard
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 1 perched at Meer island
Cedar Waxwing - several bathing at the Pool
House Wren - 2 Conservatory Garden
Gray Catbird - 5 or 6
American Robin - nesting
House Finch - female bathing at the Pool (Scott Brevda)
Red-winged Blackbird - a dozen (most of these defending territories at the 
Harlem Meer)
Common Grackle - 3-5
Northern Waterthrush - 1 north side of the Pool
Common Yellowthroat - 2 (female at the Pool, male heard-only Conservatory 
Garden)
American Redstart - 4
Northern Parula - 1 at the Loch (Edmund Berry)
Chestnut-sided Warbler - adult male in Tupelo south side of the Pool (Dan 
Stevenson)
Blackpoll Warbler - 5 or 6
Canada Warbler - singing male Conservatory Garden (Dan Stevenson)
Northern Cardinal - 6
