Morningside Park and Tompkins Square Park, Manhattan, N.Y. City -
Friday, October 2nd -

The Connecticut Warbler found - O. Fischer - at the northern end of Morningside
Park in Manhattan was later seen and very well-photographed by additional later
seekers there, on Friday, Oct. 2nd. A lot of other nice migrant species were
also seen at Morningside.

An adult Red-headed Woodpecker was found and reported - L. Beausoleil - in
Tompkins Square Park in Manhattan, and on Friday morning, thru later on Friday,
was subsequently seen as well as photographed by more observers there. It
could potentially linger there for sone time. Other migrant species in nice
variety were also present. For the Red-headed, some sightings were around the
parks dog run up in an elm and also moving to other trees at times.

The value of birding the patches shows off. And, yes, observer-finder skill,
as well as persistence, helps a great deal. Thanks to all for sightings,
re-finds, alerts, reports and tips on the spot for birds showing in the areas
of this report.

Another time for reports out of so-often noted Central Park sightings, and for
various reports from all around the rest of N.Y. County in N.Y. City.

Good birding,

Tom Fiore
