Central Park, Manhattan, N.Y. City -
Saturday, October 3rd -

One adult, among the multiple Red-headed Woodpeckers to be seen in Central
Park, with more for all of N.Y. County on Saturday, was observed by far more
than 300 people, mostly birders, and including more than 200 birders with
multiple not-for-profit guided bird walks from the early morning onward. Other
Red-headed Woodpeckers also were seen, and a much more thorough account of the
very strong migrations all around N.Y. County - including more than 100 species
of birds just in Central Park on Saturday, and far more for all of the county -
will be written up in a report at a later time.

Thanks to vast numbers of observers and photographers out and about at all
hours, in nearly every corner of the county for Saturday for sightings,
re-finds, alerts, and reports.

Good birding,

Tom Fiore
