I took advantage of a break in the rain today to bird the North end of
East Pond from 2:30-4:00. Although I was rushed and not thorough by
any means (and was the only birder there), I did find some good birds.
Highlights were 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 1 probable AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER
(did get terrible but identifiable pics from far away and couldn't
relocate it when I got closer), 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, and 1 WESTERN
SANDPIPER. Many White-rumped Sandpipers and Stilt Sandpipers as usual.
