The storm turned out to be more severe than the weather reports had predicted, with a buffeting ENE winds and heavy rain (bordering on torrential). A quick look at the ocean off Amaganett revealed an unbroken stream of terns beating eastward along the surfline. In only 20 minutes watching I estimated 2,000+ moving past my vantage point. Almost all were Common Terns with a few Roseate mixed in. No other species. Visibility was low but I noted 1 CORY'S SHEARWATER and 2 PARASITIC JAEGERS a bit further out, again moving east.
