Date: Monday, 21 September 2009 (1:05p-1:35p) Location: Bryant Park Reported by: Ben Cacace
The species count for Bryant Park (adjacent to the New York Public Library (40th-42nd St. off 5th Ave.)), based on my observations, has climbed by 1 to 33. The new species is probably the most unexpected common warbler. There is no running water in the park. This Northern Waterthrush was feeding in the SE corner of the park in a storage area where they hold plants for planting around the Great Lawn. Other warblers seen: 1 adult male American Redstart and 2 Common Yellowthroats, 1 male & 1 female. ** Total species - 5 ** - Rock Pigeon - 6+ - American Redstart - 1 adult male in the plant holding area SE corner - lower level - Northern Waterthrush - 1 in the plant holding area SE corner - upper level - Common Yellowthroat - 2+ incl. 1 male & 1 female - House Sparrow - 6+ -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES Archives: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
