For those of you planning on going for the bird this weekend -
Rt. 9W is a busy road. For your safety, please stay off the shoulders of the
road. There are enough very good viewing spots out of harm's way. The folks
at the Sunoco Station/XtraMart and the auto shop just north of them, have been
gracious "hosts", allowing parking on their premises (dropping a dime for
coffee and/or a snack wouldn't hurt...) plus the first driveway on the east
side of 9W just after the Thruway exit are all great spots to watch the bird.
If you go into the XtraMart, make sure you tell the clerk why you are in the
area.

Some of my pix of the bird can be seen at:

Happy birding!

Subject: [nysbirds-l] Request for Swainson's Hawk Status

We were thinking of going up to Coxsackie tomorrow to look for the
Swainson's Hawk. Does anyone know whether the bird was seen today? I
am sure other birders would also like an update. Thanks to Rich
Guthrie and company for keeping everyone apprised of the birds status.
