The bridge connecting Crown Point, Essex County NY to Vermont's
Addison County is CLOSED until further notice. Local travel is badly
affected in addition to potentially affecting birders traveling in
that area - for those needing to get thru across Lake Champlain to
either side a scheduled ferry service operates (which may be
increased, while NY State's D.o.T. does whatever they will be doing
about the bridge and that could take a long time) - while nearest road
crossings are quite far from the bridge location. A ferry not too far
north from Crown Point is located at Essex, NY - the boat crosses Lake
Champlain to near Charlotte, Vermont.
