Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

12/6: A SHORT-EARED OWL was seen in the clear area of VanDyne Spoor Road.
Jefferson County
------------
11/30: 5 KING EIDERS were seen on Lake Ontario from Montario Point Road.
Onondaga County
------------
12/3: 4 BRANT were seen flying over Otisco Lake.
12/6: A SWAMP SPARROW was discovered on Connors Road south of
Baldwinsville.
Madison County
------------
12/3: A GLAUCOUS GULL was found in a field with other gulls near
Wampsville.
Oneida County
------------
12/3: A large raft of SCAUP (both species) estimated at 3000 was seen on
Oneida Lake east of Cleveland. Also seen were small numbers of REDHEAD and
CANVASBACK.
Oswego County
------------
12/5: 277 TUNDRA SWANS were seen on Oneida Lake from Phillips Point on the
north shore. At Rainbow Shores Road on Lake Ontario the following waterfowl
were seen. 7 KING EIDER, 15 BLACK SCOTER, 1 SURF SCOTER, and 60 WHITE-WINGED
SCOTER.
