Today my friend Bernie Conway described a dead bird he found at NYBG. He
described it as bigger than a warbler but smaller than an oriole with a bright
yellow breast and greenish-brown upper side. I immediately thought of common
yellowthroat or chat. Unfortunately it ended up being a Yellow-breasted Chat,
only the 2nd or 3rd one seen there as far as i know.. It's a shame such a rare
and beautiful bird succumbed to the freezing temps of the last couple days.
