Jan 18 Brooklyn Joe Giunta and I (Sy Schiff) did an afternoon wild gull chase (fifth try), diverted on the way via Coney Island. Successful on both counts.
The WESTERN GREBE reported by Shane had moved farther east to about second st, still fairly close into shore when we arrived about 3:00 PM. It was feeding along one of the jetties. We then went for the gull, parking and walking over the pedestrian bridge. At 4:00 PM we found the MEW GULL on the rocks about have way between the bridge and the Parking Lot, a bit further along than where it had been seen recently..
