27 Jan. Various loocations Today was to be the last nice day in Jan and Giunta, Debbie Martin and I (Sy Schiff) went target birding. We first stopped by Great River to view and photograph the very cooperative DOVKIE.
Heading north to Yaphank, we viewed the TRUMPET SWAN pair from the path north of the restaurant parking lot. This allowed us to see the swans which were hidden from view behind the island at the far NE end. We continued with a detour to Pelham Bay and found our target owls. Successful birding and good company.
