As already reported the Ivory Gull was seen from the end of Stony Point Road at the south end of the village of Rouses Point and was apparently there for a good part of the day on Friday. I was on Prospect St. in Champlain around 3 PM and did not see the Northern Hawk Owl while 2 other birders I talked to had not seen the owl in several visits today. Our theory (or hope) was that the strong winds kept the owl low today. North of Ausable Point State Park 2 of us did not find the Tufted Duck with the rafts of Scaup but the birds were bobbing in the waves caused by the northeast winds. Saturday's forecast is for lower winds.
