NYSbirders, Along with at least 8 other happy Ithacans and many other birders, I watched the adult Ivory Gull in Rouses Point (Clinton County) for much of Saturday. For several hours in the middle of the day, the gull bathed and preened at considerable distance out on the lake ice. In the late afternoon (3:30-4:45 PM) the bird became fairly active and fed on a number of fish around the ice fishing "village" along the Stony Point Rd. jetty in Rouses Point as well as a chicken that I brought along as a poor substitute for an offering of ringed seal or beluga.
