I failed to mention in my previous post that I observed a brief courtship like dance by one of the cranes. Also, on my second stop at the field I again saw people in the field. This time the birds seemed to be disturbed and retreated slowly to the far side, bugling as they went. I was pleased to finally be able to hear that music in the field. I just wish it had been under better circumstances, such as the birds were flying to roost for the night and not because they were disturbed by thoughtless people.
