A singing Hooded Warbler in Strawberry Fields was the cherry on top of a fine, 16 warbler species-morning in Central Park, most of which was spent with Morgan Tingley and Harry Maas.
White-throated and Chipping Sparrows, and Hermit Thrushes were abundant with 50+ individuals of each, while RC Kinglet numbers are way down from earlier in the week. Wood Thrush, Veery, and Baltimore Oriole were other new arrivals for me, and I heard rumors of Scarlet Tanager from Chris Cooper as well. Solitary and Spotted Sandpiper were also both on Turtle Pond. -Scott Haber Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html 3) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
