Saw Mill River Audubon's early morning field trip today to this Westchester
County property (via the Wood Street trail entrance) offered some very
enjoyable birding with the usual spring favorites (Scarlet Tanager,
Baltimore Oriole, Indigo Bunting, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, abundance of
Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat and Blue-winged Warbler). Also enjoyed
were views of singing Field Sparrows and Prairie Warblers in open fields
surrounding the gazebo.

Of note were two different singing Hooded Warblers, one very near the Wood
Street trail entrance and a second along on the White Trail in southern-most
part of the property.

This latter area, with a south facing slope and abundance of grape vine
tangles also produced great looks at a Kentucky Warbler and a Canada
Warbler. Worm-eating Warbler and Ovenbird were also quite vocal along the
wooded slope in this part of the property and also along the SW portion of
the yellow trail.
