I birded areas through the Ramble and then up to the Reservoir and Pinetum
today from about 8:30am - 1:00pm. It was extremely quiet on my way in, but
when I got to the Upper Lobe at about 8:50, a wave of activity began,
heavily weighted towards Magnolia Warblers. Places between were fairly
quiet, but when I reached the Pinetum at about 12:30 an insect hatch-out
occurred, and the resulting mob of warblers and thrushes provided a very
enjoyable hour of birding for me and for a group of birders with Starr
Saphir.
