Cupsogue Tues 13 July Joe Giunta and I (Sy Schiff) were on the marsh yesterday in the early afternoon looking for the godwit (which we just missed) when we heard thunder and saw a flash of lightning. We didn't wait, but left immediately for the sanctity of the parking lot and car. Since we had been in contact by phone, a number of birders knew we on the marsh. I'd like to express my gratitude to those who were concerned for our safety and to let them know we're OK
