My wife Betsy and I saw a Red-breasted Nuthatch at Camp Hero, Suffolk County. The last time we had a Red-breasted Nuthatch during August was in 2007. The following fall and winter produced Pine Grosbeak, Common Redpoll and Red Crossbill all within NYC or close to the city. Hopefully the same will happen again this winter. Time will tell.
