This morning just past 10:30 Angus Wilson (with me standing right by
his side) found a WESTERN KINGBIRD at the South Fork Natural History
Museum in Bridgehampton (Suffolk Co.). The SOFO Museum is located on
the east side of the Sag Harbor turnpike just north of the RR tracks
in Bridgehampton. To find the bird, go behind the buildings, and look
for an Osprey pole to the left (northeast). Nearby is a dead tree on
the south side of a small pond which the kingbird frequented during
its feeding bouts. Between feeding bouts it would sit in the oaks and
cherries along the north side of the field beyond the pond. There were
also Blue-winged Teal and a Solitary Sandpiper in the wet field.
At Sagaponack we had a groups of 10 CASPIAN TERNS, along with a WHITE-
RUMPED SANDPIPER and a WHIMBREL.
At Mecox, John Shemilt saw 4 CASPIAN TERNS early and we found 4 fly-by
MARBLED GODWITS heading east.
