Our Brooklyn Botanic Garden birding class saw 52 species. The weather was
perfect for a hawk flight and hawks are what we saw, over 100. We saw all
the regular hawk migrants (Sharpies, Cooper's, Kestrels, Merlins, Peregrines,
Harriers, and one Bald Eagle). A Turkey Vulture was seen and some of us
saw a flyover flock of Snow Geese. We also noted 4 warbler species
(Yellow-rumps, Palm, Common Yellow-throat and one Prairie) and 5 sparrow
species
(White-throats, Swamp, White-crowned, Song and Savannah).
