The highlights early this morning were a fly-over Cattle Egret and a Pine
Siskin at Ft. Tilden. The land bird flight was modest, consisting mostly of
Red-winged Blackbird and American Goldfinch. A Lincoln's Sparrow was north
of the ball fields at Ft. Tilden. A cooperative Yellow-breasted Chat was
along the fence at the southwest corner of the Riis Park golf course (found
by Starr Saphir and her group), and a Marsh Wren was glimpsed in the weeds
along the Riis Park promenade. White-crowned Sparrows were abundant today.
We saw at least 20 birds, including one adult. Warblers included Nashville,
Black-throated Green, and Magnolia.
