A quick walk through Sunken Meadow State Park yesterday morning produced my FoS
male Purple Finch along with a few females, all of which were munching on
hawthorn berries.  Sharp-shinned and Red-tailed Hawk, and a Merlin were the
only
raptors seen.  A House Wren was also seeking shelter  against the wind in a
small brush pile in Field 2.

Today, I visited David Weld Sanctuary in the village of Nissequogue and found a
nice variey of birds including a Winter Wren, 1 Rusty Blackbird(callingn`-
`,
3-4 flyover Purple Finch, Brown Creepers, Blue-headed Vireos, Northern Parula,
Blackpoll warblers, and five species of sparrow.
