A few birds to add to today's posts from out east: At Montauk Point from
7:45-9:30, most of the sea ducks were far offshore, but there were 350 or so
Razorbills around the point, with multiple groups of 15 or more birds flying
east and many others on the water. A 2nd winter Iceland Gull flew by Culloden
Point, and there were 2 Razorbills in Montauk Harbor viewed from the west side
of the Inlet. At Shinnecock there were 2 1st winter Iceland Gulls, one on the
bar north of the parking lot at the Inlet, and one on a piling at the fishing
station. There were also 450 Common Eiders in the area, and a few more
Razorbills.
