Yesterday, Dec 19, 20 intrepid observers found 114 species on the Sagaponack
CBC, which covers Watermill to Amagansett on the South Fork of eastern
Suffolk County. Highlights included

1 BARROW'S GOLDENEYE
4 Red-necked Grebe
1 EARED GREBE
2 Bald Eagle
1 Merlin
1 Peregrine
11 Purple Sandpiper
4 Wilson's Snipe
31 Razorbill
2 Saw Whet Owl
4 Sapsuckers
1 House Wren
1 Marsh Wren
28 Eastern Bluebird
1 Palm Warbler
6 Chipping Sparrow
3 Vesper Sparrow
41 Fox Sparrow
101 White-crowned Sparrow
7220 Common Grackle
10 Purple Finch
2 RED CROSSBILL
1 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL

The recent cold weather resulted in almost all of the fresh water being
frozen and was partially responsible for us missing the following species:
Tundra Swan, Brant, Canvasback, Greater Scaup, Pied-billed Grebe,
Black-bellied Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, American Woodcock, Dunlin, Lesser
Black-backed Gull, Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Ipswich Sparrow.
