Fifty-eight species were reported this week.  The most-reported species 
was COMMON REDPOLL  (7 reports).

The best birds of the week were:
MERLIN: Brunswick 1/23; Delmar 1/26.
NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL: Cherry Plains 1/23; New Baltimore 1/25.
EVENING GROSBEAK:  Stony Creek 1/22 (4);  Cherry Plains 1/23; also a 
report of 3 at a feeder with no location given.

Other notable reports:
Snow Goose: 4-mile Point 1/20.
Bald Eagle: Esperance 1/22;  New Baltimore 1/21 (2);  1/22 (3), 1/25 
(2); Stillwater 1/25 (2).
Northern Harrier: Fort Edward 1/25.
Sharp-shinned Hawk: Albany 1/20.
Rough-legged Hawk: Coxsackie 1/20.
American Coot: Fish Creek 1/25.
Eastern Screech-Owl:  Ghent 1/20 (in a chimney).
Great Horned Owl: Five Rivers 1/26.
Barred Owl: Saratoga 1/22; Saratoga Battlefield 1/25.
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker: Troy 1/25.
Common Raven:  Stony Creek 1/22; New Baltimore 1/25.
Horned Lark: Coxsackie Grasslands 1/20.
Brown Creeper: New Baltimore 1/20.
Carolina Wren: Old Chatham 1/21; Schuylerville 1/23 (2), Troy 1/25 (2).
Golden-crowned Kinglet: Partridge Run 1/20.
Eastern Bluebird: Niskayuna 1/23 (4).
Northern Mockingbird: Colonie 1/23; Saratoga 1/26.
Swamp Sparrow: Galway 1/25.
Snow Bunting:  Coxsackie Grasslands 1/20.
Red-winged Blackbird: 4-mile Point 1/20 (3).
Pine Siskin: Palenville 1/26.
