I was at EPCAL this morning and noted at least 7 American Kestrels, several Horned Larks and Eastern Meadowlarks, a Savannah Sparrow, 2 Northern Harriers, a Red-tailed Hawk and a flyover by 2 Great Egrets. Also there were 6 Turkeys present.
Dune Rd. was very quite with the only notable species being 2 Oystercatchers just east of the Bridge on the flats. Photos of these birds can be seen here: http://birdsoflongisland.blogspot.com/2011/03/morning-migrants.html Also, I had posted earlier in the week about several raptors spotted @ EPCAL. Photos from that trip can be seen here: http://birdsoflongisland.blogspot.com/2011/03/lots-of-raptors-epcal.html Thanks for looking. -- - Luke Ormand, Flanders www.birdsoflongisland.blogspot.com www.wildlongisland.blogspot.com -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html 3) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
