Central Park, North End
Tuesday, October 11th

Malcolm Morris, Ken Chaya and I were fortunate to run into Tom Perlman
on the Great Hill late this afternoon. Tom was on his way home but
had just seen a Blue Grosbeak in the Wildflower Meadow. The three of
us headed over there, where we found the the grosbeak at 5:30 pm on
the west side of the meadow, moving back and forth across the fenced
path that leads into the meadow from the 102nd street transverse, just
west of the big red oak. It was amazingly cooperative and remained in
close view for well over 20 minutes. It called occasionally, and
appeared to be a female. Hopefully the bird will still be there in
the morning.

Good luck if you go!
