Just before 9:00 AM this morning, John Shemilt spotted a BROWN PELICAN at Mecox Inlet (Watermill, Southampton). After showing some interest in fish being herded into the shallows by cormorants, the pelican continued east. I checked the eastern arm of Mecox Pond, Sagg Pond and Wainscott Pond but could not relocate the bird.
