I spent a few hours in the field today, mostly at Jones Beach but also at
Oak Beach and Sunken Meadow. Jones Beach was relatively quiet, with no
notable sightings save for a Great Egret in the pools east of West End 2
and a female Common Goldeneye in the Boat Basin, relatively uncommon at
this location. Two *Razorbills* were seen flying in to Fire Island Inlet
from the Oak Beach parking lot along Ocean Parkway.

Sunken Meadow was more productive with a *Marsh Wren* by the outflow pipe,
and a female *Baltmore Oriole* in the same area. Two Great Egrets were
lingering as well.

On a belated note, on Monday I had an adult *Razorbill* in Huntington Bay
as viewed from Hobart Beach on Eaton's Neck, not surprising given the
recent incursion of the species into the Long Island Sound. Also worth
noting was a flock of *24 Rusty Blackbirds* feeding along the tidal creek
flowing along Waterside Avenue in Northport the same day.
