Since Monday, I've tried to make the time to take the 10-15 minute ride to
Wading River for the Mountain Bluebird, but not until today (after checking off
the 3 items on my wife's prioritized list of must "do's") was I able to get the
MOBL! We have had a houseful of company over the holidays (some from as far as
Evanston, Il.), and I had the foreboding feeling that when I finally was able
to run up there, the bird would be gone.
Checked off #1, a "must" return to Kmarts. Checked off #2, selecting a
"special" bottle of wine for the dinner party we are going to tonight. Checked
off #3, another "must", by returning a long over-due library book. Checked off
#4 (which I added to the list) when I pulled off the road onto the n/s
"shoulder" of Rt. 25A, w/o Hulse Landing Rd., W.R., walked 8 steps, looked into
the spotting scope offered by Tom Burke, and saw my "state" MOBL... it
certainly is a wonderful Christmas Season!
