Date: Friday, 30 December 2011 (1:55p-4:25p) Location: Manhattan - Swindler Cove Park & Sherman Creek Reported by: Ben Cacace
This upper Manhattan park is situated along the Harlem River at the end of Dyckman St. & 10th Avenue across the island from Fort Tryon Park. The ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER continues along the wood chip path bordering Sherman Creek. Each time I've spotted the bird over the past few weeks it's been low in the trees north of the obvious mound that is on the south side of the path past the Stonehenge-like benches. After this the warbler flew west high into a tree. ** Total species - 28 ** Last 3 birds seen: Northern Mockingbird, Red-winged Blackbird & White-breasted Nuthatch.
