Headed out to Iroquois today with Jim Horn, HM Bateman, and Alec Humann.
Nice weather brought out a lot wildlife: muskrats, Painted Turtles, Garter
Snakes, Commas (butterfly).

I was really hoping to see the Eurasian Wigeon, but no luck. Highlights
include:

Numerous Northern Shovelers, American Wigeon, Ring-necked Ducks, and of
course Canada Geese throughout.

Pied-billed Grebe, American Coot, Lesser Scaup, Canvasback, Ruddy Duck,
Bufflehead, Green-winged Teal, Northern Pintail were all present at the Cayuga
Overlook (some of the aforementioned ducks were also seen elsewhere in
Iroquois).

Songbirds included many of the usual suspects as well as Northern Shrike,
Purple Finch, and a Siskin (I missed that one but Alec had it near the
Kanyoo Trail parking lot). These birds were seen in along the Feeder Rd.

2 Sandhill Cranes also flew from Kumpf Marsh over into Tonawanda WMA. They
were very vocal, and gave up less than thrilling views, but were still
great to see.
