There has been a good flight of Cave Swallows at Hamlin Beach (Monroe County) today - through about 10:15 there were a total of 96, all going west. Initially they were passing by in small groups (2-3 birds) but there were several groups of around 15-20 birds. Other birds passing by included 7 Evening Grosbeaks, good numbers of American Goldfinch and Pine Siskin, Although I spent little time watching the lake, the assembled group of birders noted good numbers of Black Scoters (120+), Surf Scoters (including a single flock of c. 60), c.100 Brant, and three jaegers, at least one of which was Parasitic (I didn't see the other two or hear them IDed to species).
