To all, For those who are working with eBird.org to upload checklists I've compiled a list of recent hotspot additions to the NYC Area which includes all of NYC, Long Island & Westchester.
** Please contact me offlist with any questions or comments. A hotspot is a location that is visible to all and allows anyone to produce reports & checklists based on these locations alone or in combination with other hotspots. The other type of marker is a personal location which is available only to the person who created that marker. The submissions from a personal location are available at the county level and above for checklists & reports. If you'd like to merge a personal location with an existing hotspot here are the steps: — Sign into eBird.org — Go to "My eBird" & select "Manage My Locations" in the right panel — Select your personal location (shows a letter "P" under Type) & click "Edit" — Select the "Merge" button and you'll see all nearby hotspots - Click the red icon that best fits your location: After clicking the hotspot the description for the hotspot shows up in the right panel — Click on the button "Merge # Checklists with [selected hotspot description]" — Make sure to select "Delete after merging" — Answer Yes to the 'Yes or No' query All checklists for that personal location will be combined with the hotspot.
