Sorry for the late post (back trouble kept me from the computer) - but the pair of Black-headed Gulls which Jacob Drucker spotted with friends last Wednesday across from the NW saltmarsh of Randalls Island were still there this past Saturday afternoon hanging out with a large group of Ring-billed Gulls and one Bonaparte Gull. One of them looked to be a 1st year, slightly smaller than the adult with an orange bill and feet instead of red.
