On our way home from running errands, Ann Shaw and I tried for the previously reported Barnacle Goose at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. We found the parade grounds along Broadway empty of geese, but at around 3:30 pm we found the Barnacle Goose on the north end of the Van Cortlandt Park Lake visible from the vicinity of the golf course clubhouse. There were very few waterfowl around on the north end of the lake - one Canada Goose, a few Northern Shovelers and Ruddy Ducks; there were Mallards in the vicinity of the clubhouse.
