Other highlights from the Bronx yesterday were COMMON REDPOLLS at Rodman's Neck
near the parking lot. At least 9 in a mixed flock that included American
Goldfinches. Very likely the same flock that Eric Miller, Arie Gilbert, Bob
Hayes and I found last week. Many thanks to Rob Jett who clued me in to their
continued presence in the area. The birds were feeding on sweet gum balls so
check the nearby trees if you go looking for them.

Later on in Queens, my friend Andria and I had a very obliging BROWN THRASHER
near the soccer field at Alley Pond Park. A walk into the woods did not yield
much, but we were pleasantly surprised to hear and see 2 COMMON RAVENS as we
exited the "blue trail" heading back towards the upper Parking lot. The RAVENS
were flying in a south westerly direction.

Good and Responsible Birding!
