Sam Janazzo called to report that the GRASSHOPPER SPARROW from yesterday continues as well as the GLAUCOUS GULL that was reported earlier today. Both birds are at Jones Beach West End.
The GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen again near the turn around at West End, as you enter the parking lot. Look for foraging sparrows on both sides on the way in. It goes without saying that if you notice photographers or birders on the bird, you might want to take the back entrance into the parking lot and drive over then walk down to the location where the bird seems to favor. That way you don't flush the bird. The GLAUCOUS GULL was still being seen in the western part of the lot. Good luck if you go and many thanks to Sam for the update.
