I am not sure how significant this is but while waiting for the Lapland Longspur to show up at the Coast Guard Station I took a picture of a Savannah "Ipswich" Sparrow. It was not until later that I realized it has a metal band in its leg. If any researcher could use this information please e-mail me off list.
The Lapland Longspur did show up with Horned Larks, and there were at least two of the immature White-crowned Sparrows mentioned yesterday by the entrance.
