Thanks to Jim Berry for the heads up on the male WESTERN TANAGER. Irving is in the northwestern corner of Chautauqua County. I talked to the homeowner who said that the bird seems to come in to the feeder regularly - every hour or two. There is just a single seed feeder on a pole with suet above that. The Tanager likes the suet and will also fly into the nearby bushes. It's a yellow house that's hard to miss.
DIRECTIONS: Exit the NYS Thruway at Silver Creek and head south on Routes 5 and 20. Almost immediately make a sharp right turn onto Main Road. The yellow house is up a few blocks on your left at the intersection of Jackson Street. The lone feeder is to the left of (behind) the house, close to the street.
