Doing a quick post from the field for those folks thinking of trying
for both birds. The Ruff and the Baird's Sandpiper were not seen
today.

Both these birds have not been seen since Sunday according to other
sources who reported negative.

I would give it a day or so but it very well could be that they both
pulled out with other birds.

Today, I did the hike from the south end to north and back. Still a
good number of shorebirds but the number of Short-billed Dowitchers
has dropped significantly.

Highlights included STILT SANDPIPER (29), WESTERN SANDPIPER (3),
WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER (1) and a WESTERN WILLET.

Very few shorebirds on the pond at the moment as they all retreated
presumably out the marsh to avoid a marauding young Peregrine Falcon
who kept putting everything up.

Sent from somewhere in the field using my mobile device!
