Greetings, My wife and I took a trip to Alaska and Vancouver in late July early August. We landed in Anchorage, rented a car and drove south to Seward to do a boat trip to the Kenai Fjords. Then back to Anchorage and on to Denali for 2 days. Then back to Whittier where we boarded a cruise ship to Vancouver with stops in Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchican. Last 3 days were based in Vancouver.
This was not strictly a birding trip as my wife is a non-birder, but I did see 9 life birds. Kenai Fjords was especially spectacular, but I have to say pelagic birding from the stable deck of a large ship with amenities (you can use a scope!) was my favorite part of the trip, and I spent many hours on deck doing just that. Apologies that less than half of the following photos are of birds (and to the listowner that none of them are of NYS birds), but I am also sharing this with non-birding friends and family.
