There is a breeding plumaged Red-throated Loon seen on the Croton River seen from the boat launch area next to the trestle, beyond the Croton-Harmon Railway Station. It is to the left of the phragmites close to the far shore. It was seen by members of the Edgar A. Mearns Bird Club, Orange County around noon today. Well seen with a scope was the light gray head, small delicate upturned bill, vertical black and white stripes low on the hind-neck, red on the throat and a dark un-patterned back.
