Hi everyone, I was at the lake by Merrick Road earlier - the winter ducks are moving in more: saw ~30 ruddy ducks, 5 hooded mergansers, and around a dozen shovelers and black ducks. Also saw a monk parakeet on Broadway by N Kings Ave (you'll see the nest) I will post pics of the ducks ASAP on my blog longislandbirding.blogspot.com.
